Are you looking for some coloring inspiration? Below, I have colored my favorite illustration from this series, so you can use it as a guide to help you color. I have also included tips along the way, which will help young learners bring every zoo coloring page to life.

This illustration shows a fun zoo scene with many different animals together.
I decided to use traditional colors here, using classic yellow and brown for the giraffe, golden yellow with a dark brown mane for the lion, black and white for the zebra, light gray for the hippo, and brown for the squirrel.
However, you are free to choose whatever colors you like; zoo animals don’t always have to look realistic. You could try giving your giraffe purple spots, your tiger rainbow stripes, or your monkey bright blue fur. Mixing real animal colors with fantasy colors makes your zoo animal kingdom extra magical.
You can use crayons for bold, smooth coloring and pencils for small details like fur lines, feathers, or scales. Markers create strong, vibrant colors that make animals pop, especially birds and reptiles. You can even combine tools – try coloring an elephant with crayons and adding shadows with colored pencils.
