Princess Coloring Tips and Inspiration
Are you looking for some coloring inspiration? I decided to color my favorite princess from this series, the princess royal castle coloring sheet. I have also shared a few easy tips to help you add your own royal touch to every princess you color.
Princess Royal Castle Coloring Sheet
Before you start coloring, it is good to think about what colors you would like to use. Will your princess wear a pink gown like Sleeping Beauty, a blue sparkly dress like Cinderella, or even a rainbow-colored dress?
In this illustration, I decided to use a soft pastel palette. For the princess, I used a gentle pink and sky blue for the dress. To keep the fairytale mood, I used cool blues for the water and sky, and fresh greens ground the foreground.
When coloring your princess, you can practice with different coloring tools. Crayons are great for soft, smooth colors. Colored pencils are perfect for adding details and making shadows on gowns or hair. Markers are good for bright, bold colors. You can even use glitter pens to make crowns, sequins, and tiaras sparkle like real diamonds.
You can also practice with layers to make your princess pages look even more magical. If you want to know how, start with a light color first, then go over it with a slightly darker color. This works really well on hair, dresses, or even castles in the background.
Finally, you can try to use shadows and highlights. Shading shows where the light hits your princess and where it doesn’t. To add shading to your coloring pages, press a little hard to make dark areas, like under the sleeves or the folds and creases in a gown. And remember, when your princess is all colored, show her off! Place your page on the fridge, your bedroom, or gift it to a friend.
